Christine’ program has truly transformed the way I eat and the way I think about food. The simple idea of drinking more water has helped me to feel lighter, more fluid. I now know I don’t need coffee. I’ve always eaten quite well, but having guidelines has helped me to understand how to put things together in a way that really don’t have cravings now. And, I no longer feel guilty about eating. I have become more mindful in my approach not just to food, but to taking care of myself. Before the Spring 2017 Detox I was feeling stuck–both physically with some extra pounds, and emotionally due to stress. I began Christine’s “No Diet” concept waiting for a diet. Instead I discovered who I am and how I use food. She encouraged me to approach situations with a curious mind and a child-like sense of exploration, which caused a slight but profound shift in how I see myself and approach life. My motivation to begin this process was prompted by my ever so stubborn metabolism. I had, like many women I know, struggled through every diet ever conceived, with stingy results and no satisfaction. I was concerned that the addictive response I have to sugar might begin to impact my good health so I was seeking strategies to eliminate the cravings. I was unhappy with my appearance, critically assessing my wardrobe choices, my food choices, my level of daily productivity, and at the end of the day, berating myself for coming up short, with renewed vows to “do it better” tomorrow.
Perhaps it was the disappointment of my last diet which absolutely PROMISED to deliver if extremely restrictive measures were followed without deviation ( caution: be careful not to lose too much weight) I was prepping myself for the first day of my new skinny life and crushed with failure. I went for a physical convinced that there was something very wrong. Apparently I was wrong, which I considered god news/bad news. My physician recommended I speak to Christine and my enlightenment began.
I was leaving NJ for winter months in Key West. Christine and I worked out a schedule of long distant appointments for phone therapy. We agreed that the time I spent away might be the ideal climate to receive new input and work on issues I deal with regularly at home. I began the “No Diet” concept waiting for a diet. Instead I discovered who I am and how I use food. She encouraged me to approach situations with a curious mind and a child like sense of exploration, which caused a slight but profound shift in how I see myself and approach life. She guided me to regress to see how I had formed decisions about myself and how those limiting beliefs impacted my decisions as an adult.
I have resumed exercising by practicing yoga on a regular basis. I have taken a wonderful painting class and drawing class with intentions to continue exploring my creativity. I am approaching new adventures like kayaking through the deep mangroves without fear of failing. This makes for a happier life richer for the variety of experience.
I am not a stranger to therapy so I do appreciate how kindly and effectively Christine helped me reach into my heart in a short time. The results have been life changing. Before coaching with Christine, I was consuming a lot of sugar. I have done a lot of self care workshops and reading in the past, so I knew I was feeding myself for good reason. I just needed to acknowledge myself in a more healthy way. I also had developed over the last few years, symptoms of blood sugar fluctuations and severe energy variations. I knew I had to t ke care of myself with food and other areas of my life.
Without any mindfulness, around myself and food, I was in a constant state of doing. I justified this lifestyle pace because I desired my children to have a perfect childhood. This desire is so strong, because a nurturing childhood was what I lacked. I would try to fit in little moments of caring for myself but mostly I would run out of time. I had such low energy at times it would create anxiety, which only made the symptoms worse.
I knew it was time to get support from a coach whenI turned 50 and I began to realize that I want to and deserve to take care of this one body I have been given for myself and my family. To create health for my family is very important to me.
Coaching with Christine has been a life changing experience for me. Every session with Christine brought new and positive change to my life and to my family as well. The food portion of our session was exciting and delicious recipes with a purpose for health. Every meal was easy to prepare and incorporated ingredients that would improve health. My family has their favorites, such as healthy granola, sweet potato hash and baked teriyaki chicken.
But the non- food related portion of our session, when Christine would use different exercises centered around creating awareness, were my favorite part. Although these exercises were not easy and always emotional with her questions of past experiences and disappointments, it was always followed by visualization of my desired state of being and how to release old beliefs.
The biggest tangible results are my reduced sugar cravings. It is just indescribable how it feels to not be eating sugar uncontrollably during the day. I believe I have always had these craving since I was a child so it has been the most powerful result that I have experienced since working with Christine. To feel in control and trust myself around food is so empowering. I have also started taking care of myself in other areas of my life with starting a new job in health-based skin care. Many of our sessions centered around my desire for purpose and connection and this new journey will satisfy both.
Christine is so much more than a health coach. Christine really takes the time and care to know who you are as an individual and incorporate that into her plan for your success. She is a wonderful listener and intuitive to where you need the most support. Christine’s caring personality comes through when she is offering you a special healthy snack she has made or a cup of tea, while she is also asking you those wonderful thoughtful questions of ” what is missing” or ” what do you want for your life”. These are the questions that lead to awareness and change. Christine provides you with the tools she knows that will work for you because she has taken the time to know you.
My favorite things with the coaching is that it was EASY to learn, easy to stick with and that the weight loss was just a by-product of eating better. I needed something that was realistic and was easy to follow in every day life and this was IT! Christine taught me that making life changes as it relates to food was easy to learn and easy to stick with. Christine always made me feel like she was there for me and always had time if I had a question or a concern.
Before coaching with Christine, my greatest challenges were feeling like I was out of control with my eating and the subsequent weight gain. I would flip flop between saying to myself “I can deal with the weight gain because I love eating so much”, “I’m not ready to give up the foods I enjoy (which were never good food choices)” and then feeling completely disgusted with myself (felt gluttonous) and the way I looked, especially in pictures. I had frequent headaches and felt achy in my joints as a result of my weight gain (which after coaching I learned was a result of my body being inflammatory solely due to my food choices). And I think the one greatest ongoing challenges is that my husband is a total foodie (and also finds joy in feeding people) is constantly tempting me with foods that I should not be eating.
My willpower to refuse is challenged almost on a daily basis. I had tried several fad diets with initial success but the weight came back on and then some. I needed something that was realistic, easy to follow and was something I could follow for life. The above challenges impacted my life by my constant weight gain and feelings of disgust with myself. I knew “enough was enough” when I started having constant headaches and aches and pains where I never had them before. I was also feeling more and more depressed with myself. I felt like I was on a downward spiral both mentally and physically. When my scale topped 150 pounds (I am only 4′ 11″) and I had to start buying clothes in size 10 and when size 10 started feeling tight (I had always been sizes 4 & 6 in the past), I knew I had to make a change. I would feel totally disgusted with how fat I looked in pictures, especially next to my sisters and sister-in-law who are all thin. Prior to my weight gain, I was never the “fat sister” and now I was! My favorite things with the coaching is that it was EASY to learn, easy to stick with and that the weight loss was just a by-product of eating better. I needed something that was realistic and was easy to follow in every day life and this was IT!
After coaching, Looking and feeling better about myself. I work in sales and seeing the difference on how people reacted to me after I began losing weight. I would constantly be complimented on how great I looked. Another would be that my skin looked and felt better and I also was sleeping better as well.
Christine was was always very supportive, positive and uplifting and never made me feel bad if I had a slip up. My most pressing issue was that I was unhappy with my weight and felt sluggish a lot of time. I did not take care of my self. Yes, I dieted and exercised on occasion but I was too busy to actual take care of me instead of everyone else. I had terrible heartburn that would persist for days. I was less confident at work and was generally unhappy in all situations. I never realized that I was putting everyone else first, but I was. I felt exhausted at the end of the day from all the running around and also felt that I was not accomplishing anything. The heartburn was a constant annoyance. Having a diagnosis of PCOS. Before coaching, I was feeling achy and tired and discouraged by the challenge of losing weight (I was told to lose 15 pounds by my doctor). I had developed fear that I would get all kinds of illnesses. I had a lot of stress as my parents are aging and need a lot of attention and help. As a result, I was constantly snacking on foods, which had a lot of sugar and salt. I was very nervous spending money and time on myself. Best investment ever!!! I would watch silly TV and numb myself with food rather than get on with the work I had to do.

I have and am continuing to lose weight, a little at a time (I have lost about five pounds in the last 4 weeks so far). I am less achy and have more energy and focus. I know that the changes I have made in one month were easy and will become a part of my life permanently. My A1c is now normal, my cholesterol is perfect, and my Fibro symptoms flare only occasionally. I have lost 37 pounds to date. I no longer eat dairy or gluten but honestly I do not miss them. I rarely crave anything and have become creative in healthy cooking and dining out.
Before I started working with Christine I was worried about my health because I was eating what I thought was a healthy diet but I was steadily gaining weight in my waist area. Nothing was working! I was constantly tired and felt I was living in a “brain fog”. My mother had developed dementia in her later years and it scared me as we both had similar symptoms in our late 50’s and early 60’s. I had chronic indigestion, acid reflux and diarrhea sometimes 15-20 times a day! I was miserable!
My life was a constant fear of not being near a bathroom, I was afraid I would have an accident. Running for the bathroom was embarrassing and interfered with all aspects of my life. I was up and down all night long, never getting a good nights sleep which made my fibromyalgia symptoms very difficult to deal with and be able to function while working a stressful, full time job.
I could not take the symptoms and was tired of being told that there was nothing serious as long as my weight was not dropping. It was ridiculous to feel so awful and get no relief. I had hypertension, cholesterol imbalance and my A1c was just one step below diabetic status.
Christine was so easy to talk with and in following her advice within two days I felt better! My diarrhea ceased and my brain fog started to lift. I was able to sleep and function at a normal level! My A1c is now normal, my cholesterol is perfect, and my Fibro symptoms flare only occasionally. I have lost 37 pounds to date. I no longer eat dairy or gluten but honestly I do not miss them. I rarely crave anything and have become creative in healthy cooking and dining out. Most restaurants accommodate whatever you need as long as you communicate.
Since working with Christine, I am much better at prioritizing myself and asking for help when I need something. My communication skills in general have improved as my confidence increased due to feeling well! My marriage is happier as I am not tired and sick all the time. My husband has been a huge support in cooking for me and calling ahead to find out if I can be accommodated at restaurants. We laugh and enjoy each other far more than before and I didn’t know it could be this much better! I finally got the courage to leave my job of twenty-one and a half years in a stressful work environment and I have a new job in a happy and professional environment. Before coaching, I struggled with constipation, weight, hormone Imbalance and self acceptance. In hind sight, I was not aware of anything accept focusing on negative feelings and negative symptoms. From what I knew I was just going to have to learn how to suck it up and live a life of deprivation. I had already been seeing medical doctors for about 13 or 14 years for my medical issues. I was in trials, put on tons of different medicines and beat myself up even when working out at the gym because “it wasn’t enough”. I remember always feeling shameful. One of my doctors, Dr. Cindy Parnes, recommended Christine to me.
My favorite aspect of coaching was understanding and confirming the importance of listening to my body and my instincts when it comes to my health. I became aware that I could do more for myself than I was aware of. I felt heard. I felt that Christine was truly interested in helping me. I loved going to see her. One of my favorite aspects of working with Christine was just having someone listen and be able to offer solutions that come from a completely objective place. Christine helped me to reframe some of the aspects of my life and freed up the negativity from that space.
Before coaching, I struggled with getting things done, eating properly and being organized. I think the organization and achieving all the tasks I set for myself led me to feeling overwhelmed. I didn’t eat properly-I didn’t overeat, but I tended to eat processed foods such as food bars. What inspired me to work with Christine was initially improving my nutrition because I didn’t have time to eat correctly, but then we developed the momentum to look at what was really behind the frenetic activity. One of my favorite aspects of working with Christine was just having someone listen and be able to offer solutions that come from a completely objective place. Christine helped me to reframe some of the aspects of my life and freed up the negativity from that space.
I also no longer use artificial sweeteners and have developed an enjoyment of cooking. I don’t carry as much stuff around with me-literally-I had a lot of stuff. I think I like myself a bit more because I can identify positive aspects of my personality. And I have learned the skill of scheduling to accomplish tasks. I don’t always do it still, but I know that I can and how to do it.

Since working with Christine, I have lost 15 pounds, gotten my insulin resistance under control, stopped taking cholesterol medication and no longer need to use a C-Pap machine for sleep apnea.
Before coaching with Christine I was not feeling well overall. I had a lack of energy. I needed 9-10 hours sleep every night. I was unable to lose weight even though I was following Weight Watchers. I had lost 20 pounds very slowly over 2 years but hit a plateau and could not lose more even though I was following the diet and exercising. I felt very discouraged. I had no idea where to begin and was very confused by all the different programs and diets claiming to have the answer. I had an overwhelming feeling of being stuck.
I was making the transition to retirement and finding it difficult to take advantage of the opportunity to do things that I had been wanting to do for a long time. Lack of energy made it difficult to plan next steps. I kept finding it very hard to get interested in new things. I kept putting off doing anything until I was “in the mood” or had the energy. I was not feeling very good about myself and beating myself up about not being able to lose weight.
A friend suggested we attend a lunch and learn program Christine was conducting. I found the lectures interesting and enjoyed the foods she prepared. A few months later, I signed up for a more in-depth group program Christine was conducting over an 8-week period. I learned a lot more about the impact of the foods we eat on our health but still wasn’t sure where to start. I decided I wanted baseline blood work done to assess my overall health and found out that I was insulin resistant, which explained most of my symptoms. I was well on my way to having Type 2 Diabetes, even though I have no family history of diabetes. These test results made me decide that the now was the time once and for all, to take control over my health. I decided to work one-on-one with Christine immediately.

I have learned which foods I should avoid and have experienced how much better I feel when I don’t eat them. Christine also provides a wide range of recipes that have helped me expand the types of food I cook and enjoy.
Since working with Christine, I have lost another 15 pounds as I got the insulin resistance under control. I have been able to stop taking cholesterol medication and no longer need to use a C-Pap machine for sleep apnea. I have a significantly increased energy level and my interest and intellectual curiosity levels have returned to where they were years ago. I attended Christine’s workshops to learn more about food and nutrition with the idea of improving my own health and that of my family. I now look at food very differently when shopping for it; preparing it at home or eating out. I am so much more selective and aware of my food choices. On a quest to improve my diet and nutrition and create healthy meals for my family, I invited Christine to come to my home and conduct a cooking class.
Ten girls including my daughter enjoyed learning a fun new way to bond in friendship. The kids learned to replace a quick hamburger with a satisfying millet one, instead. Sweet potato fries added decoration and festivity to the meal. A tahini paste replaced our usual ketchup. Impressed by the girls giggling response and enthusiastic chatter. I have been living with Ulcerative Colitis for many years and recently had a colonoscopy to make sure everything was ok since my colitis for the most part had been in remission.
My physician contacted me and told me the biopsy results showed that I have Cryptitis, an inflammatory condition, and that I would need to take Prednisone for 6 months. I was devastated and asked my physician if I could please get through the holidays and make some changes and see him in January for a follow-up. I knew exactly who I needed to call.
I had met Christine Okezie about a year ago and attended many of her corporate lectures. I was so impressed by her knowledge, expertise and how professional she was.
I learned so many things from her lectures about nutrition, recipes and healthy clean eating. I even learned how to get my children to try a smoothie with Kale in it. I immediately texted her because it was late at night. She wrote me right back that we would have a phone meeting the next morning. Christine spent an hour on the phone with me that morning with a plan of what to eat, what books to read, and a shopping list to get me started. I have known Christine Okezie for about 1 ½ years now and I have to say that she has been an inspiration to me. Not only is she a wealth of knowledge about holistic nutrition and healthy cooking, but her pleasant manner in truly listening and guiding you toward your goals is rare and wonderful, especially with someone as frustrated as I was when I first met Christine! I was tired of doctors that won’t spend the needed time with you and/or doctors that want to treat a body party (heart, lung, etc.) instead of a whole patient.
Christine sits down with you in a one on one session and finds out your lifestyle and what foods you enjoy, etc. From there, she will come up with a meal plan for you made up of whole foods that will lead you on your path to wellness and fitness.
Christine also offers an array of Lunch and Learn series where she will teach you about nutrition while cooking a simple healthy meal for the class. I have learned so much from Christine that I was unaware of before and I am someone that tries to stay on top of eating healthy. You would be surprised as to what you have in your home that you believe is healthy and in fact could be wreaking havoc on your health. The food in my cabinets and refrigerator has changed tremendously since I’ve met Christine and so has my total cholesterol down from 250 to 193!

First, I want to say with conviction – my successful diet plan with Christine has changed my life! I have lost 50 pounds and feel great! I love wearing nice clothes again and showing off my new body. It has rejuvenated me and given me back confidence that I forgot I had lost by getting older into my 50’s. I have been told, the plan and weight loss has taken 10 years off my appearance.

I began my sessions with Christine back in May 2013. I was overweight by about 40 pounds, was on meds for high blood pressure, and high cholesterol, and was insulin resistant. I believe if you want to do something you have never done –you need to do something you never did before —to achieve that goal. Initially the thought of signing onto a 5 month program with the cost associated with the program—seemed expensive. But I made the decision to invest in myself and “do something that I never did before” to achieve my goal—to lose weight and get healthy!!!
Christine began with reviewing all my eating habits and we immediately cut out all dairy products followed by all products with Gluten. I began losing weight the first week and I consistently lost about 2 pounds only a week for the first few months. I began taking a pro biotic daily and vitamins she recommended. Initially, I wanted to lose 20lbs fast, and wanted instant results and Christine said it would come, to be patient—and the weight came off. The first 20 pounds seems slow to lose but the second 20 lbs. seemed faster. The last 10lbs. was without trying at all. My body stopped when it was at its perfect weight. I am 57 years old, and 5 foot 4 and currently weight between 118-120. I have not weighed this since I was in my late 20’s.
The transition to Gluten and Dairy free was not that difficult for me because with Christine’s guidance, I began eating lots of vegetables, meat and fruits and nuts. I was eating all the time (small amounts), and never was hungry. I planned what I was eating every day and the changes were not a diet for me, but a lifestyle change.
I was a 3-can a day diet coke drinker before Christine, and I am happy to say I have not consumed a diet coke since beginning my treatment in May 2013. Now, I drink tea and lots of water. I was a person who never ate breakfast, and now I do every day. I used to be a carb junkie, and don’t miss carbs and pasta a bit.
